Cambridge, Massachusetts, April 22, 2013– Groundhog Technologies announces today support for the integration between geo-location solution CovMo™ and IBM NMS (Tivoli Netcool) Fault Monitoring system.

Network alarms are important for mobile operators to maintain its network availability. Today’s Network O&M alarms are limited to alarm about infrastructure hardware, such as NodeB, eNodeB, RNC, and MME. With geo-location capabilities, CovMo™ allows alarming for geographical areas, such as hotspot and shopping mall, and for particular subscribers or VIPs.

Integrated with IBM Tivoli Netcool platform through SNMP interface, CovMo™’s alarming module provides best-in-class alarming functionality. IBM Tivoli Netcool is not only a network management station to monitor and control network elements, but also sends email/SMS notification for location-based alarm. CovMo™ can help IBM Tivoli Netcool to trigger the alarms with high geographical resolution and unique intelligence. It provides insights such as KPI degradation for a high ARPU area, so that operators can take proactive measurements to steer ahead of customer complaint and churn. Operators can also leverage CovMo™’s indoor issue identification capability to allow even more advanced alarming setting.

With the integration between CovMo™ and IBM Tivoli Netcool, operators can better meet customer complaint SLA by reducing time to automatically identify problems and take prompt actions. In terms of network accessibility and retainability, automatic alarming helps to troubleshoot and optimize network KPI and as a result to improve network quality and end-user experience.
